A Victaulic coupling is a mechanical pipe joint used to connect grooved-end pipes quickly and securely. Instead of traditional flanged, welded, or threaded connections, Victaulic couplings use a grooved-end design with a gasket and housing, providing a leak-tight seal.
• Grooved connection: Pipes are grooved at the ends to fit into the coupling housing.
• Gasket sealing: An EPDM / Nitrile gasket inside the coupling compresses around the pipe to ensure a tight seal.
• Bolted housing: Two ductile iron housing segments are bolted together to clamp the gasket around the pipe groove.
• Quick installation – much faster than welding or flanging.
• No hot work – safer, since no welding is required.
• Ease of maintenance – simple to dismantle and reassemble.
• Versatility – used for water, HVAC, fire protection, mining, and industrial piping.
1. Rigid Couplings – lock pipes together with little or no movement.
2. Flexible Couplings – allow limited angular movement and deflection.
